Right now, you can sign up at HotelClub.net and receive a $30 voucher as their “Christmas gift” to you. Not only can you find hotels in most U.S. cities, but they’re also available worldwide! (You can even book a room in Sydney, Australia for free (after voucher).) With just a few minutes of searching various U.S. cities, I’ve seen some rates as low as $37 (most likely because this is the off-season), which would mean $7 after the voucher!
Here’s how to do it:
- Register with HotelClub.com using this link.
- After you’ve registered, go to this link and log in (on the left side, under “already a member?”.
- At this point you will have $30 credited to your account, and it should show as “member dollars available.” If you want to use it, proceed:
- While still logged in, click on the “home” tab.
- Search for listings in your desired area by date and location.
- Book your hotel, and print out the voucher!
UPDATE: If you are having difficulty getting the voucher, go to this link and read the details once you’ve joined and logged in. It may now only show up when you go through the link to book a room.

Here’s a picture (scan) of a couple of cute office supplies I picked up for free at Staples today with this coupon for $5 off any $5 or more “M by Staples” purchase. (The total actually came to 4.99, so I added a piece of candy and paid 50 cents to cover tax, etc…). These will make great Christmas gifts!

Our internet is still down (the post where I thought it had returned was apparently just an hour long window). BUT, Bellsouth was so kind to give us 20 free hours of dial-up while our internet is down; after that, it’s just $1 an hour(!!!). But, I can’t complain; dial-up is better than nothing!
If you happen to be in the area , you may want to call (888-321-2375), and request your 20 hours of free dial-up.
(According to the tech I spoke with, it is all Bellsouth DSL in the 864 area code, though I haven’t heard of anyone else with this outage.)
