Nearly Free Greenville Fine Dining

Through January 31 (Saturday), you can go here and get a $25 coupon to be used once at your choice of any of the local Table 301 restaurants, which include:  The Lazy Goat, Soby’s, or Devereaux’s.

Once you have redeemed the coupon (you fill out your address when you use it), you will be handed a coupon to use the next month at a different restaurant from the 3 listed above.  Use it in February, and you be sent another to use in March.  Keep it up each month, and you’ll receive 12 coupons throughout the year.

The only fine print on the coupon?  All certificates valid in the dining room, during dinner service for a minimum of two guests.  Limit one per family.  Valid during the time period stated only. Elsewhere it also mentions that it is appropriate to tip on the pre-coupon price.

The menus and prices are located online at the specific websites listed above, so you can do careful planning to get a free (Lazy Goat; minus tip) or inexpensive fine meal.  Enjoy!

Update: My husband and I went to the Lazy Goat, and it was amazing!  We paid $1 (we had to pay tax) plus the tip.  We got 2 appetizers and a pizza, though we didn’t realize that the appetizers were appetizers and not entrees.)

Special thanks to my friend Kim for sharing and enjoying this amazing deal!  (It was one of, oh… over 2,000 Google reader feeds awaiting me when I returned…I almost missed it!)

Free McDonald’s Food: Friday, Dec 12

On Friday, December 12, from 11a.m. to 3p.m., visit a local McDonald’s to taste “what’s cooking now.”  Samples vary by location and are limited to one per customer, but it may be a fun little pit stop if you’re running errands anyway!

Also, keep an eye out for $1 McDonald’s Winter Treat books. (I was redeeming one of my “free item coupons” from the Fall treat books when I spotted a sign for these.  :))  Some locations have sold out, but there may still be a few left elsewhere (call first).  I’ll update if I learn anything more, but these would have made great Christmas presents for some of my relatives!

The Best Turkey Wins

While some grocery items are more expensive during the holiday season, my observation of frozen turkey prices leads me to the conclusion that the time leading up to Thanksgiving is actually the most inexpensive time to buy frozen turkey meat!

One average-sized turkey (10+ lbs.) can provide meals for a whole month if rationed carefully, and turkey is much healthier than beef, and even chicken.

So, far, here are the prices I’ve seen:

  • Bloom and Food Lion: $.57/lb.
    • limit 2 turkeys with and additional $35 purchase (I am not sure if this is pre-coupon/how it works if your total is lower)
    • 10 lbs. or more
  • Ingles: $.68/lb.

    • Limit one
  • Publix: $.69/lb.
  • Bi-Lo: $.79/lb.*
    • Limit 2**with $25 additional purchase (bleh!)**
    • *Their ad states that they will price-match any competitor’s turkey price (excludes Butterball and fresh turkeys)
  • Aldi: $.99/lb. (Butterball Turkey)

May the best turkey win!  So far Ingles is in the lead!  (In my book, at least, because they don’t state a specific purchase requirement.)  Please comment with any additional input or information!  I will also update as I find new info.
