Say Cheese!

Kraft’s Naturals block cheese (pictured) is currently on sale 2 for $4 at Publix (both 6 oz. and 8 oz.).  There are blinkie coupon machines (in the cheese section of most local Publix) for “$1 off any Kraft Natural cheese made with 2% milk.”  If you purchase the 8 oz. blocks, it comes to $1 per 8 oz. block, or $2 per pound!  Super deal, so stock up!  (In case you’re wondering, this is at least 50% off of Wal*Mart and Aldi prices!)

This deal ends on Tuesday, December 9.

Deal idea: If you want to take advantage of Publix Mystery item (free item with a $10 pre-coupon purchase, Sundays and Mondays), you could do this buy $10 worth of cheese (5 blocks) today (Monday), use 5 $1 off coupons, and pay $5.01 for 2.5 pounds of cheese and the penny item.

There are of course, several items for free right now, so you could potentially use several of the “free” items, and do multiple transactions in order to get several penny items for the lowest out of pocket expense.

The current Publix Advantage Buy flyer (Nov 29 through Dec 26) carries a coupon (page 4) for $2.00 off “any Revlon Beauty Tool or Revlon Cosmetic.”  The least expensive item that fits this category is a nail clipper (great stocking stuffer) for $1.49.  Thus, you have $.51 overage and a free fingernail clipper.  (My husband was delighted to now have his own!)

And if you haven’t picked up your 10 free boxes of corn muffin mix, don’t forget to do so by December 5!

You may be able to find something else fore even less at other locations.  The coupon does state that it should not exceed the purchase price, but some stores do give overage.  The general coupon policy is up to each store.

Several local stores have items you can get for free this week, so I thought I’d share how to combine the sales for a free update: nearly freemeal from these items (plus add a few sides):

• Pick up a Thanksgiving Savings booklet at Publix (yellow cover, good through Dec 5), and find the “$5 off your order when you buy 10″ of the specific items listed (including Martha White corn bread mix (7.5 oz. BOX, not packet), at y.5 size).  The price is 2/$.99, so after the coupon, it is free!  (Additionally, if you have coupons from the 11/9 Red Plum insert, you will receive overaged!) (Through Dec 5)
• Use $1 off any Muir Glen product coupon on $.85 tomato paste, to get it for FREE + overage–just make sure you buy something else to use your overage on! (Indefinitely)

• Barilla piccolini pasta is on sale $5/5 (you don’t have to buy 5).  This $1/3 coupon makes it FREE Update: Coupon is no longer printing $1/1 coupons (Through Nov 25)

Obviously, you’ll have to add some sides (and meat, if the tomato sauce alone is a bit “spartan” for you), but there’s a starter to an inexpensive meal!

Additionally, you can get free Chex mix at Walgreens through Saturday.  It’s on sale for 99 cents, and it will be free if you use this $1/1 coupon*.
